What is laa polo about?
LaaPoLaa TIE-INDIA founded by Walter Peter, works for and with Children, youth, parents, teachers by providing them a fun-filled, creative environment. We enhance and facilitate the learning process using drama and its allied arts as a toolbox of education. This creates space, both mental and physical, among the participants to open up and become an efficient individual.
Voice of Laa Po Laa, is the band formed under Laa Po Laa TIE India by Walter Peter with 4 underprivileged children Farman, Devender, Manish and Bhanu in the year 2018. These children are highly motivated to bring the social awareness and transformation by writing, composing and singing on the topics like climate change, environment, girl child, child labour, distracted youth, women empowerment, world peace and social integration..
Voice of Laa Po Laa band members:
1. Farman: Student of Class 12th Humanities, Farman is an actor, singer, lyricist and the band leader of Voice of Laa Po Laa. He lives in Delhi with his father who is a carpenter and mother who is a housewife. Farman has performed and also written songs in Jashn-e-bachpan international festival of NSD. Being a member of Laa Po Laa TIE India and Voice of Laa Po Laa, he has done 3 shows in association with CRY and Child Fund India.
2. Devendra: Student of BBA 1st year(MDU), Devendra is a guitarist and tabla player. He lives in Delhi with his father who is a painter and mother who is a housewife. He did his first theatre workshop with Mr. Walter in 2007 and from there on he has performed in various festival organized by CRY. In association with Mr. Walter Peter he has participated in Jashn-e-bachpan(International theatre festival for children), Bal Sangam organized by NSD.
Devendra has also been a part of various plays based on Women empowerment, Child Rights, Missing Children and Education System.
3. Manish kumar: Student of Class 12th commerce, Manish is a singer, guitarist and a rapper. He lives in Delhi with his mother, who is a maid. He is passionate about music and business. Manish attended the children workshop by Walter Peter in year 2018, organised by Nai Disha, New Delhi (NGO works for social transformation). He is performing in Khilta Bachpan by Child Fund India.
4. Bhanu: Student of class 9th, Bhanu is a singer and plays cajon. He lives in Delhi with his father who is a driver and mother who is a housewife.Bhanu attended the children workshop Meri Baat aap ke saath by CRY in 2018, where he got associated with Mr. Walter Peter. From there on Bhanu has performed for CRY, DLF and Cyclothon. He is performing in Khilta Bachpan by Child Fund India.
